Hume Anglican Grammar is a multi-campus co-educational Anglican Diocesan School offering education from Prep to Year 12 in the Northern growth corridor of Melbourne. We aim to provide our students with an education that prepares them for the challenges of life, equips them to contribute to the community in an environment based on Christian values and at a cost affordable to as many families as possible.

Hume now calls for applications for the Head of Teaching and Learning - Primary (Mt Ridley) commencing at the start of the 2022 academic year. This fulltime position has a time release of 0.5 FTE and is a 4 year fixed term, with a category 6 Leadership Allowance. The teaching component is ongoing and this position is based at our Mt Ridley campus. 

The Head of Teaching and Learning - Primary (Mt Ridley) is responsible for implementing the School’s Vision for Learning, and its realisation of creating a learning culture within their section. They drive the scope and sequence of the academic program for their section, provide expert advice to teachers within their area, and play a key role in delivering a relevant, progressive, and effective teaching program. 

With knowledge of contemporary curriculum, teaching and learning practices, the Head of Teaching and Learning is responsible for creating a stimulating and challenging learning environment, raising student achievement, improving quality teaching and learning, and promoting the School's philosophy, policies and procedures.  

All teachers share a significant responsibility in preparing young people to lead successful and productive lives. The quality of the teacher is the single-most important in-school factor influencing student achievement. Teachers can be a source of inspiration and, equally importantly, provide a dependable and consistent influence on young people as they grow and flourish, and ultimately make choices about their future. All Teachers are expected to actively engage in the co-curricular and pastoral care program.
