Schools That Excel

Hume Anglican Grammar has recently been announced as the winner of The Age’s ‘Schools That Excel’ independent award for Melbourne’s Northern area, and we couldn't be more thrilled!

This prestigious award is given to schools that achieve outstanding improvement in their VCE results over a decade, and we are proud to say that our school has been recognised for sustained improvement in this area.

The Age conducted a thorough analysis of VCE results data over a 10-year period for every secondary school in the state, and our school fared exceptionally well. We are honoured to have been recognised for our hard work and dedication to providing our students with the best possible education.

Principal Bill Sweeney has attributed our success to a number of factors, including our focus on core Anglican values and student wellbeing. Our school’s motto, Let your colours shine, encourages each child to identify and develop their talents, and we are proud to say that our students have flourished under this philosophy. Parent support has also been a crucial factor in our success, particularly when it comes to senior student achievement. “Our parents share our values,” Mr Sweeney says. “They believe in what we are doing.”

We are incredibly grateful for the support of our school community and are committed to continuing to provide our students with the best possible education and opportunities for success.
