Our Community - Donnybrook

Throughout Remote Teaching and Learning, we continue to learn about ourselves and different ways to do things. Instead of catching up with family in person, we arrange Zoom dinners or play ‘Boggle’ together online. Over the weekend, on my bike ride, it was great to see families riding and walking together. The sunshine was lovely and the fresh air did us all good.

Last week we celebrated Science Week. It was great to see the various science experiments shared with photos, videos and explanations of making butter, damper, wacky potatoes and a whole lot more. Friday was a welcomed chance to not only have a half-day, but to come to school in our PJs. Students both onsite and offsite were amazed to see their teachers in PJs. A few of us did get a few interesting looks from the delivery guy delivering the Big Childcare food, or when one of us had to get petrol on the way to school. It was another example of an opportunity to do something a bit different, but together. Additionally, the colours put on letter boxes, the ribbons and the posters were a delight to see. Thank you for being a great community and shining a light on others.

I would like to take this opportunity to thank the teachers, general staff, parents and students for continuing to work together, supporting each other and being flexible in our thoughts and actions. We look forward to when we can return to onsite learning and be together once more.
