Italian - Mt Ridley

Over the past few weeks students have adapted remarkably well to remote learning due to COVID-19. The Italian program has gone ahead digitally and here is a quick overview of what the Primary school students have been learning as well as their thoughts on remote learning.

I like learning Italian online- sometimes. The activities are fun though I enjoy it more when we are at school. I do like teaching my kittens Italian every night. - Parker Prep A

In Italian, I’m learning about directions like Nord, Est, Sud and Ovest. Learning directions in Italian is fun because I like speaking a different language. - Tadhg  2B

Learning Italian online is understandable, but I am still learning the meaning of some Italian words. I think I am managing Italian well, and the Teams and Seesaw instructions are enough for me to complete the tasks. - Niamh 3A

The food topic is interesting. - Joanna 3A

The topic we are learning in Italian is fun because I love learning about cultural food. - Mehar 4A

Learning about fruit is very fun! During lockdown, using Teams to see our Teacher and to explain the activity online is very nice. - Michelle 4B

We have been exploring the history of Italian artists and their creations. Learning online has had some challenges but the videos and instructions that have been given to us make it much clearer and easier to understand. - Jeremy 6A

I have been studying Michelangelo Buonarroti for my artist research task. I find him very fascinating because when I grow up I would like to be an architect just like him. - Elyse 6A

Learning about pieces of art in Italian like the Mona Lisa is fun and I hope I can learn more about Italian artists. - Maeve 6A
