Class of 2022 Valedictory Dinner
Last week we enjoyed a wonderful night of celebration as we farewelled the Class of 2022 at their Valedictory Dinner. Families, friends, staff and students came together to reflect on all that the graduating students have achieved and contributed during their time at the school. We are grateful for their contributions; they have shared their talents, their passions, their humour and their kindness. The legacy that they have left runs deep.
Each student was presented to the audience by their Homeroom teacher. We reflected on the students’ favourite memories from Hume, learned of their future goals, and academic and community awards were presented. Students, families and teachers enjoyed socialising with each other, and the evening concluded with some enthusiastic dancing, which really has been a feature of this cohort’s time at Hume.
In my address to the students, I reflected on this group of students being one that was easy to engage. They say yes to the opportunities that are presented to them, and we are all the richer for it. As they leave the security of Hume, I encourage them to keep saying yes to opportunities that are presented to them. I want them to look for ways to use what they have learnt here at Hume to serve others, and to use their skills and talents to improve the communities that they encounter. I am confident that each of them will make a meaningful contribution to the world around them.
It has been an enormous privilege to work with this group of students during their time here at Hume. Go well Class of 22, you will be missed.
