CSEF Funding
The CSEF provides payments for eligible students to attend camps, sports and excursions. $125 per year is paid for eligible primary school students, with $225 per year paid for eligible secondary school students. A special consideration eligibility category also exists.
We would also like to make parents aware that this has a flow on effect on overall government funding to the school. In that we receive additional funds based upon the number of students who are CSEF eligible. Therefore, although the allowance described above may not appear overly large, the additional funding received by the school is considerable. I urge any parent who feel they may be eligible to apply.
Families holding a valid means-tested concession card or temporary foster parents are eligible to apply. Parents or legal guardians are required to submit a new CSEF application form each year.
It is expected that approximately 222,000 Victorian school students will directly benefit from the CSEF.
The following criteria applies to the CSEF applications:
To be eligible* for the fund, a parent or legal guardian of a student must:
a) Be an eligible beneficiary within the meaning of the State Concessions Act 2004, that is, be a holder of Veterans Affairs Gold Card or be an eligible Centrelink Health Care Card (HCC) or Pensioner Concession Card (PCC) holder, OR
b) Be a temporary foster parent, and;
c) Submit an application to the school by the due date.
* A special consideration eligibility category also exists. For more information, see: https://www.education.vic.gov.au/about/programs/Pages/csef.aspx
