- Hume Anglican Grammar is a multi-campus co-educational Anglican Diocesan School offering education from Prep to Year 12 in the Northern growth corridor of Melbourne. Hume Anglican Grammar has an open enrolment policy so educates children from many faiths and with a diverse range of backgrounds and abilities.
- In 2023, the School will open its third campus in Kalkallo, as a Primary (P-6) school. In 2022, the first classes for the new campus have commenced and are being accommodated at the Donnybrook campus, to then move to the new site in 2023.
- The School is on a growth trajectory and in 2023 is expected to increase to 2,265 students and ultimately have some 3,300 students (Mt Ridley 1,400, Donnybrook 1,300 and Kalkallo 600) with a corresponding cohort of teaching and general staff on its three campuses with plans for further expansion.
Due to significant growth, Hume Grammar is looking to recruit a Head of Teaching and Learning - Primary. This is a full-time role, comprising of 0.5 FTE teaching and 0.5 FTE leadership.
The Head of Teaching and Learning - Primary supports and assists the Director of Teaching and Learning and the Coordinator of Learning Enhancement – Primary in the implementation and delivery of additional support for students to foster their development.
Subject to the discretion of the Principal, the Head of Teaching and Learning - Primary is responsible for managing the academic program pertaining to the Primary school. Responsibilities include:
- Developing, implementing, evaluating, and revising the selection and sequencing of curriculum
- Working collaboratively with Heads of Teaching and Learning across campus to implement whole-school academic programs and to maintain consistency
- Collaborating and supporting Learning Enhancement, as required, especially with respect to assessment and reporting
- Leading processes to evaluate the effectiveness of teaching programs using research and workplace knowledge about how students learn
- Management of pre-service teachers in consultation with the Director of Teaching and Learning
All teachers share a significant responsibility in preparing young people to lead successful and productive lives. The quality of the teacher is the single-most important in-school factor influencing student achievement. Teachers can be a source of inspiration and, equally importantly, provide a dependable and consistent influence on young people as they grow and flourish, and ultimately make choices about their future. All Teachers are expected to actively engage in the co-curricular and pastoral care program.
