New Staff - Semester 2
Like all schools, the commencement of the academic year sees a time when many new staff join the school. The second largest starting point is at beginning of the second semester. I take this opportunity to welcome new staff who join Hume Anglican Grammar mid-year.
Secondary English Teacher – Ms Lobna Alman
Lobna joins us as an English teacher in the Secondary school at Mt Ridley Campus for Semester 2. Lobna is a passionate and dedicated teacher with more than 8 years’ experience teaching English and Humanities. She has recently completed her Masters in Special Education degree and has held positions of leadership at previous schools including Additional Needs Coordinator and English Domain Head.
Secondary Arts and Visual Design Teacher – Ms Navpreet Batth
Navpreet joins us as a Visual Arts and Design teacher in the Secondary school at Mt Ridley Campus for Term 3. Navpreet holds a Bachelor of Arts in Textile Design from the Glasgow School of Art and is a passionate and dedicated teacher with experience teaching in Scotland and Queensland. Navpreet has held a Pastoral Middle Leader position at her previous school and aims to foster the wellbeing and creativity of all her students.
Executive Assistant to the Deputy Principal – Mrs Kim Christopherson
Kim has more than 20 years’ experience as an Executive Assistant, most recently as the EA to the Assistant Commissioner Small Business at the Australian Taxation Office. Prior to the ATO, Kim was the Business Coordinator and Executive Assistant National Operations (Logistics) for Australia Post. Kim’s strengths include high level organisation, prioritisation and communication skills.
Receptionist (Mt Ridley) – Mrs Chloe Craig
Chloe has over 14 years in customer service/administration roles including 2 years at Craigieburn Secondary College as a P/T Admin Assistant/First Aid Officer in 2019/20. Chloe previously worked as Administration Officer at The Northern Hospital for 11 years.
Payroll Administrator – Mrs Renee Harris
Renee has over 10 years’ experience in accounts and payroll, with 5 years managing high volume payroll for a disability service provider. She previously worked as a payroll assistant for Donvale Christian School where she played an integral role in the implementation of a new payroll system, Aurion.
Receptionist (Mt Ridley) – Mrs Elyse Hudson
Elyse holds a Cert IV in Frontline Management and completed her VCE at Aitken College in 2010. She is local (lives in Craigieburn) with her husband and two young children and is very keen to be more involved in her community through the role at Hume.
Primary Italian Teacher (Donnybrook/Kalkallo) – Mrs Francesca Lionti
Francesca is a passionate educator with a personal and professional interest in Language acquisition. She has experience in implementing the government funded Early Learning Languages Australia program in an Early Childhood setting. She enjoys extending children's thinking and learning through intentional teaching, inspiring environments and spontaneous play experiences.
Secondary Mathematics Teacher – Mr Michael Sarraf
Michael joins us as a Mathematics teacher in the Secondary school at Mt Ridley Campus. Michael comes to us from Mount Ridley College where he has taught Maths, Science and Health and Physical Education. He has also held leadership positions including Team Leader, Student Manager and Student Advocacy/House Program Leader. Michael is a passionate and dedicated teacher who aims to engage all students and develop successful and independent learners.
Secondary Humanities Teacher – Miss Natalie Shephard
Natalie joins us as a Humanities teacher in the Secondary school at Mt Ridley Campus. Natalie is a passionate and dedicated teacher with more than 15 years’ experience as a curriculum leader in the UK and Australia. Most recently she has worked at the OneSchool Global Melton Campus where she has taught History, Humanities and Legal Studies. Natalie is a regular presenter for the History Teachers’ Association of Victoria and also has significant senior assessment and publishing experience.
Primary Performing Arts Teacher (Donnybrook/Kalkallo) – Ms Rachel Smith
Rachel Smith is an experienced Performing Arts teacher who is well known at Hume Anglican Grammar as the Vocalist Teacher for many years. Her experience includes teaching music to a classroom of students from Prep to Year 10 and Instrumental music teaching of voice and woodwind up to VCE standard. She holds an Associate Musicians Award (AMEB), a Graduate Diploma of Primary Teaching (Victoria University) and a Bachelor of Australian Popular Music (NMIT). Her passion lies with music, it is a hobby as well as a career.
Secondary Humanities Teacher – Mrs Berna Yusuf
Berna joins us as a Humanities teacher in the Secondary school at Mt Ridley Campus. Berna is a motivated and enthusiastic teacher and has held numerous leadership positions throughout her career including Head of Teaching and Learning at Australia International Academy where she also taught Humanities, Business Management and Legal Studies. Berna has a Master of Education from Monash University and looks forward to assisting students in achieving their learning objectives.

We also congratulate Jodie our former Mt Ridley Receptionist, who moves to the newly created role of Administration Officer supporting administrative services. Also, welcome back Michelle who returns in her recast role as Administration Officer.
Secondary Mathematics – Ms Suzanna Mackie
We welcome back Suzanna to the Secondary Mathematics Faculty, well known to all as a dedicated and well-respected teacher from last year.
