Volunteering at Donnybrook
Volunteers in the classroom and at events are instrumental in many ways. They can listen to students read and read to the students, assist with technology and share expertise, help in small groups and on excursions.
Volunteers gain knowledge of what is happening in the classroom and a better understanding of how the school operates and what educational programs are used. Volunteering also shows the children how much adults value their education. Volunteering shows the importance of participating in the larger community and working together for the betterment of our school community.
It was great on Friday, 18 March to be able to run the annual Volunteer Induction Session, allowing volunteers who attended to assist in the classroom, library, on excursions and in many other ways throughout the year. During the last two years, volunteering has been limited and restricted at different times, so we look forward to opening our doors from next week to volunteers who have completed the course. We thank our volunteers, whether it be assisting each week, once a month or covering books for the library, we appreciate all the support we receive and value their contribution in building our community.
