Years 7 and 8
In Years 7 and 8 the curriculum is largely based on the key learning areas of English, Mathematics, Science, Humanities, Language other than English (Italian), Health and Physical Education and Religious and Values Education. Students also experience some lessons in the Visual and Performing Arts, Information Technology, and Design and Technology Studies. Both Years 7 and 8 cohorts build relationships as they participate in camps each year, which develop skills in teamwork, collaboration, friendship-building, organisation and goal-setting.
Years 9 and 10
In Years 9 and 10 the core curriculum is narrowed and students begin to make elective choices, providing them with a foundation of experience, knowledge, understanding and skills in an even broader range of subjects including Forensic Science, Media, Outdoor Education and many more. This enables students to make informed choices about courses in Years 11 and 12. Year 9 students participate in a week-long City Experience which allows them to undertake a range of curriculum-based activities while learning about, and independently navigating through, the city of Melbourne. Year 10 students further develop and consolidate their leadership skills, as they participate in the Peer Support Program and a three-day Leadership Camp. Our timetable is also designed to allow students who excel in their studies and meet strict criteria to accelerate into a VCE subject.
Years 11 and 12
For Years 11 and 12 students, the curriculum offers a broad range of more than 20 VCE subjects. We are responsive to student interests and will continue to grow our VCE offerings as numbers in the Senior Secondary school continue to increase.
