Hume Anglican Grammar is a multi-campus co-educational Anglican Diocesan School offering education from Prep to Year 12 in the Northern growth corridor of Melbourne. Coordinator of Learning Enhancement (Secondary)

Hume now calls for applications for the leadership position, Coordinator of Learning Enhancement (Secondary) commencing at the start of the 2022 academic year. This fulltime position has a time release of 0.2 FTE and is a 2 year fixed term, with a category 2 Leadership Allowance. The teaching component is ongoing and this position is based at our Mt Ridley campus. 

The Coordinator of Learning Enhancement (Secondary) is responsible for promoting an inclusive educational environment through overseeing and monitoring the academic welfare of students with diverse educational needs. This includes students with high intellectual potential and those requiring additional learning support in different areas of the curriculum.

Reporting to their respective Head of Teaching and Learning, the Coordinator of Learning Enhancement operates in close collaboration with their curriculum leader colleagues and subject teachers to raise standards of achievement of students with diverse educational needs.

This will include leading a committed team of Learning Enhancement staff in:

  • planning and coordinating the delivery of additional support for students and in fostering their holistic development
  • providing support and guidance to teaching staff in the development and implementation of appropriate programs that support students with diverse learning needs
  • actively pursuing the values, vision, goals and pathways of the School’s Strategic Plan

The Coordinator of Learning Enhancement supports and promotes the School’s child safety culture. Under the direction of the Deputy Principal, they support strategies to embed a culture of child safety, monitor performance of individuals in their charge in achieving this, and periodically review the effectiveness of the strategies employed. The Coordinator of Learning Enhancement is particularly attuned to the protection and behaviour of children who might be vulnerable or at risk.

All teachers share a significant responsibility in preparing young people to lead successful and productive lives. The quality of the teacher is the single-most important in-school factor influencing student achievement. Teachers can be a source of inspiration and, equally importantly, provide a dependable and consistent influence on young people as they grow and flourish, and ultimately make choices about their future. All Teachers are expected to actively engage in the co-curricular and pastoral care program.

Qualifications and all relevant details, as well as the details of three referees are required with all applications. Referees may be contacted prior to interview, with interviews possibly conducted before the closing date.

Hume Anglican Grammar is committed to child safety. As such, the successful applicant will be expected to satisfy child protection screening, and adhere to the School's Child Safe Policy and Staff Code of Conduct. These documents may be downloaded from the School website. All teaching staff must hold, or be immediately eligible for VIT registration.
