An array of talent shone brightly on Thursday May 6 when students came together to perform live at our Secondary Vocal and Soloists Evening.

Our first live performance in over a year following a 2020 that brought about so much uncertainty, challenge and change would see us treated to a wonderful display of talent and passion for music as 13 of our Secondary school students performed at the 2021 Vocal and Soloists Evening

Vocalists went through an audition process in to be a part of this event and the standard was nothing short of impressive, with solos and duets ranging from Musical Theatre to a beatbox arrangement of Sia’s ‘Elastic Heart’. A highlight of the night coming from Year 10 student Stephanie Graham singing belting out an original composition.

Instrumentalists were hand-picked by their teachers as some of our top players and this was exemplified by their extremely engaging performances including drums, piano and guitar.

Congratulations to all performers for their hard work, dedication, enthusiasm, talent and – particularly – for their outstanding and positive support of each other. We are fortunate to have such a wonderful group of music students here at Hume, with equally wonderful and supporting family members to match!

Thank you to all of our Instrumental Teachers, our fabulous Performing Arts Team and to Mr Mike Smith who coordinated the event and allowed our students to shine bright.
