Father's Day Celebration - Mt Ridley
On Tuesday, 30 August the Primary school celebrated Father’s Day in style. It was the first opportunity we have had to hold a gathering of this nature since 2019. Our Hume Anglican Grammar dads did not let this opportunity slip as close to 400 fathers spent the morning with their children. We began the celebration with an assembly that included a number of heart-warming items. Of particular note was the recoding of mums singing the praises of their husbands and the wonderful dads that they are. A special thanks to Chris Daramola (father to Theo and Alex) who spoke about the joy of fatherhood and to Mr Brady (Year 6 Homeroom teacher) for giving us an insight into the lessons his 4 children have taught him. The dad jokes, Performance Choir, student reflections, picture story book shared by Mr Sweeney and The Lion King Jnr photo story all contributed to this wonderful event. Following the assembly, dads spent time in the Primary school working on a special activity with their child/ren and then had the opportunity to socialise at a morning tea where scones with cream and jam were enjoyed by all.
I often speak of the strength of our community and this years Father’s Day celebration was yet another example. It was truly heart warming to stand in front of so many, all here to participate and involve themselves in the life of their children. That is what makes our community so special.
Happy Father’s Day to all.
