Staff Profile - Mitchell Lee
In this edition of ‘Meet the Team’ we are speaking with our Co-curricular Coordinator - Secondary, Mitchell Lee. Mitchell began his journey at Hume Anglican Grammar in 2016 as a replacement teacher. At the beginning of 2017 Mitchell accepted an ongoing position at our school and would take on the role of Co-curricular Coordinator - Secondary in 2019.
What do you like most about working at Hume Anglican Grammar?
Quite simply – the students! They were the reason I was drawn back to the school in 2017 and have been the reason I remain at the school today.
I really enjoy getting to know them and understanding their likes and dislikes as this helps me to build positive relationships. I like that I get to play a small part in shaping these teenagers into the young adults they are when they leave the school 6 years later.
Can you tell us about a project you are currently working on?
At the moment we are in the really exciting planning and preparation phase for our 2023 Co-curricular Program. This involves booking external venues, finalising program offerings and confirming sporting interests for the inter-school sports program.
Who has had the biggest impact on your career and why?
I am fortunate enough to work with staff and students that, in different ways, impact and shape who I am as a teacher. I believe that conversations with other staff members, continuous observation and actioning feedback from students has helped me become the teacher I am today.

If your friends could describe you in one word, what would it be?
‘Driven’. (I am often compelled by the need to accomplish a goal and feel that I am very hard-working and ambitious.)

Favourite travel spot (or) One thing you couldn’t live without?
Of the places I have visited, Bolivia would be my favourite destination, but I would also love to live in New York.

What is one thing most people don’t know about you?
I would love to be able to sing and perform in front of 100,000 screaming fans over playing a sport at a professional level.
