Our Year 5 students have been invited into the Prep Playground for the second half of lunchtime each day. They have had a big impact on the play that the preps are involved in. They play in the sand pit together, do some cooking in the outdoor kitchen, organise Simon Says games and play Tiggy too. The Preps look forward to them arriving each lunch time. The Year 5 students are very excited and have made a significant difference, especially as our Preps get a little tired towards the end of lunch. Our Buddy program involves older students working cooperatively with younger students in an attempt to build community throughout the Primary school.

Each year, our Buddy program has seen some extremely positive results. Our students look out for each other and know each other’s names which significantly improves student interactions, especially during recess and lunch times. We look forward to new Buddy initiatives throughout the year and the Prep Teddy Bears picnic which will further build and develop strength of community in our Primary school.
