The National Assessment Program – Literacy and Numeracy (NAPLAN) is an annual assessment for students in Years 3, 5, 7 and 9. NAPLAN tests the sorts of skills that are essential for every child to progress through school and life, such as reading, writing, spelling and numeracy. The assessments are undertaken nationwide, every year.
This year, NAPLAN will be held on Tuesday 11, Wednesday 12 and Thursday, 15 May.
NAPLAN tests are conducted in four areas:
· language conventions (spelling, grammar and punctuation)
· writing
· reading
· numeracy.

2021 Primary International Competitions and Assessments for Schools (ICAS): Years 2 - 6
Primary students at Hume Anglican Grammar will be given the opportunity to participate in the International Competitions and Assessments for Schools (ICAS) again this year. The assessments are designed to target students’ higher order thinking and problem-solving skills in English, Mathematics, Science and Digital Technologies. Each assessment celebrates students’ accomplishments by providing opportunities for recognition. Every student will receive a certificate and an online result report. Top performers will be eligible for medals and are invited to attend special award ceremonies to have their academic excellence publicly recognised.
The assessments will be conducted between 9 August - 3 September 2021. A letter will be sent to parents to explain how the School will be administering the assessments and the method of payment.
