Last week all Year 10 students took part in a 2-day Leadership Training Program. Working in small groups with a teacher facilitator, students participated in a range of fun activities to develop their relationship and leadership skills. Students considered the qualities of an effective leader and their own leadership style. They were challenged to practice teamwork, creativity, open questioning and active listening.
Students stepped out of their comfort zone and we were thrilled to identify many budding leaders in this group of students. We congratulate them on their efforts and willingness to participate fully in the activities offered to them.
Year 10 students will now have the opportunity to apply to act as mentors for the Year 7 students in a Peer Support program being delivered in Term 2. We look forward to providing this opportunity for our Year 10s and seeing many of them apply their learning from these training days to this new wellbeing initiative.
