Term 2 was an amazing term!!
This term the Year 3 students studied Australia and our neighbouring countries. We created posters about landmarks, such as, Uluru in the Northern Territory, the Sky Tower in the South Island of New Zealand, Mount Ulawun in Papua New Guinea and more.
As part of our STEM project, we used planks to make landmarks from around Australia and our neighbouring countries, both natural and human made. In collaborative groups, students designed and created complex, structures, such as, Sydney Harbour Bridge and Sydney Opera House.
The end of term project was to create a brochure, advertising the special features of their chosen country. The research project concluded with a presentation to the class. A great term was had by all in Year 3.
Below are some of our student reflections.
It was fun working with a partner to research landmarks we didn’t know much about. - Sireesha
My favourite part was researching and finding out more about our states and our neighbouring countries and their capital cities. - Jasleen
Stem is a great subject because we get to make fun things. Our project this term was to make human made landmarks from around Australia. Here we made the Sydney Harbour Bridge. We used planks and this was our second effort. - Luvish and Muhammad Ali
