Buongiorno Tutti!
It has been a productive term of Italian despite the ongoing lockdown. I would like to thank all parents and students for seeing the value in Italian and continuing to post activities on Seesaw and participate in Teams meetings.
The Prep students have been recapping numbers and colours in Italian. It has been fantastic to see students enthusiastic and engaged both at school and online. Bravissimi! It has been a very interesting term for the Year 1 and 2 students who are currently learning about the famous city of Venezia (Venice). They are taking great interest in how a city can have no cars and the only way of getting around is by foot, by motorboats or a gondola. Some of their comparisons between Melbourne and Venice were fascinating!
During Term 4, Years 3 – 6 have been completing some mini-Italian project tasks. The Year 3 and 4 students have commenced their ‘Incredible Me’ project which is an illustrated booklet written in Italian about themselves. I look forward to students completing this and sharing their booklet to their classmates. Meanwhile, the Year 5 and 6 students have been reading and listening to various fairy tales in Italian including Cappuccetto Rosso (Little Red Riding hood) and I Tre Piccoli Porcellini (The Three Little Pigs). Several Year 5 and Year 6 students are also participating in the Dante Alighieriposter competition. In the coming weeks, Signorina Arnese and I will be selecting 3 posters from each campus to be sent and entered in the competition.
We hope to be announcing a winner from Hume Anglican Grammar at the end of the year!
