Year 10 Wellbeing
On Monday, Year 10 students enjoyed a wonderful day of connection, having spent so much time separated this year.
Students began their day with sessions facilitated by staff from Tomorrow Man and Tomorrow Woman. The sessions encouraged the students to challenge gender stereotypes and to be vulnerable, open and honest. Everyone involved found the sessions very powerful. Within the Tomorrow Woman sessions, girls were encouraged to find their voice and step into the limelight. During the Tomorrow Man sessions, students were encouraged to consider their hero, hardship and highlight, and the boys spoke bravely and openly about this. All students were encouraged to continue the conversation when they realise a friend needs support. They left with a renewed sense of togetherness and a commitment to be there for each other as they progress through the final years of their schooling.
Students then built on this sense of togetherness, travelling to the Carlton Gardens for a picnic. Students enjoyed spending time together, reflecting on their morning’s activities. Some students explored Lygon St, while other stayed to take part in a variety of sporting activities in the park.
Congratulations to all involved for their active participation in the day’s activities.
