Safety at Donnybrook
There have been many discussions in classes, in the yard and indeed in the carpark about carpark safety. However, safety is not just for the carpark. It is important for students (and adults) to know, implement and value safety.
In Year 4 Health classes this week, students were taken out to the carpark to discuss the use of the pedestrian crossings (only place to walk across the carpark), how to use the drop off and pick up zones (no reversing, drive to the end prior to entering the traffic, not to leave gaps) along with car safety (wearing seatbelts, booster seats for children of a certain age and height and who should be sitting in the front seat).
After our assembly last week, all students were involved in a session on bus safety leading up to the Prep to Year 2 students travelling on the bus to attend their swimming lessons. This was also a timely reminder for all students that go on the bus to and from school, and also when travelling to excursions. All students were reminded about the importance of always wearing their seat belt and not walking around the bus.
These sessions, along with videos, the School's Traffic Management booklet and various communications are all provided to protect our students, our families and our community.
Below are some useful resources that may answer any questions you may have.

It is great that we have been able to start using the Hayes Hill Boulevard and Olivine Boulevard Pedestrian gates.
Let’s continue as a community to work together to stay safe on our roads and in our carparks.
