The Performance Choir have continued to meet each week for rehearsals with a twist. Under the direction of Ms Haylee Sommer, the choir have been rehearsing known repertoire, learning new songs and practicing note reading skills online. To add variety to our usual rehearsal structure, they have been engaging in physical warmups and participating in musical activities that are aimed at creating inclusive online experiences.

One example of this is the Musical Scavenger Hunt, whereby choir members are asked (in song form) to find items in their surroundings that have particular qualities, such as specific colours, textures and materials. Once they have produced these items, the whole choir sings a rehearsed melody together, replacing the original words with the quality of the items, accompanied by the piano.

Whilst there are some activities that are not possible online, we are focusing on what is possible, and the different ways we can engage during remote learning.
