Prep Farm Excursion - Kalkallo
This term has brought us some excitement. Throughout the term, Prep students have been exploring living and non-living things. We have been identifying basic needs of living things including humans, animals and plants. We have learned that living things have different needs, such as pets at home, plants in the garden or plants and animals on a farm.
On Tuesday, 31 May Prep students went on an excursion to Animal Land Children’s Farm. We started off by getting to experience a double-decker bus, for many of us this was our first time.
During the day, we got to help care for and feed ducks, goats, llamas, and sheep. We rode on a pony and even milked a cow! We held baby animals, and although many of us were a little scared, we showed courage and had a go! It was an experience that we have been talking about ever since and have really focussed on expanding our vocabulary to include all of the new and interesting words that we learnt during our time there.
