Hi! My name is Aaditya or Adi for short, I have been at Hume Anglican Grammar since Year 6, and it’s safe to say that my experience here has been great.
I absolutely love playing cricket, it’s my passion and one day I will play on an elite level. I often like to take my dog Bruno for walks, he’s a labradoodle, his favourite game is fetch. The reason why I became a senator is so that I can help my peers with any issues or concerns that they may have.
I had a fear of public speaking and this position has given me the ability to conquer that fear. I want individuals to see leadership as empowering and as a means to take action, becoming a role model for anyone struggling with their own fears. I think leadership is the art of bringing out the best in people, great leaders always find a way to do this. If I had to give advice to anyone younger than me, I would tell them to enjoy their younger years.
I think we put too much pressure on ourselves during our earlier years of school, which can have a detrimental effects not only on our psychological state, but our childhood as well. Students need to be stress-free, as VCE is a big step from Year 10, and they need to have the ability to cope with stress, so that they do not get overwhelmed with the workload in VCE.
