Shine Program - Year 6 Ingenuities - Mt Ridley
After a successful Illuminate NextGen Challenge in 2021, we are preparing our 2022 Year 6 Critical Thinkers for the experience later this year.
Last term, we were invited to observe the business pitches of the Year 9 Young Entrepreneurs class by Mrs Rochelle Rosendale. Our Year 6 students relished in this experience as they critiqued pitches from a retailer’s perspective.
We hope you enjoy the reflections from our students.
I really enjoyed listening to the Year 9s pitching their businesses as they had done it with a really good voice, and they had meaning and reason behind their pitches. Something that really excited me was Harshpreet Tiwana and Cynthia Novak as they had decided to make their business, Signature Jewellery, real. They now have their own business at the age of 14/15. That really inspired me, and I really want to be able to be an entrepreneur like them. - Saakhi Jhajj 6C
My time in Critical Thinkers has been a very informative and exiting experience this semester. When I first joined Critical Thinkers, it was an amazing experience to be with other Year 6 students of my academic calibre. It has been an enthralling and sometimes arduous experience. Overall, my time in Critical Thinkers has been one of the most stimulating times in my school life. - Kianaat Dhune 6C
I am overall impressed by the calibre of the Year 9 business conference, and I think some of these business pitches, in particular Zuri jewellery and Eos, have a lot of potential to be a real business. Their presentations were captivating and unique I am obsessed with the idea of an innovative sleek software developer, and I think I might lend a few cents to Zuri Jewellery’s cause. - Alexander Daramola 6C
