What is your role at Hume Anglican Grammar?

Head of Numeracy - Primary and Year 6 teacher.

Do you have a Motto or personal mantra?

‘Good’. I don’t know if this is a Motto or personal mantra, but I say it all the time, especially when I am faced with a challenge. I say it all the time to my students too, because challenges are a ‘good’ thing if you choose to see them that way.

What’s one thing you couldn’t live without?

I’ve got two – my son and daughter.

Who has had the biggest impact on your career thus far and why?

Mr Craig Simpson. He was the Principal of a Primary school in my hometown, Swan Hill. Without his influence, I never would have become a teacher.

Favourite travel spot?

The most memorable place that I have travelled to is New York City.

What’s the weirdest job you’ve ever had?

Towards the end of Secondary school, I worked on a farm picking onion seeds.

How do you define success?

By the impact that I have had on the lives of the students who I have taught.

Tell us two things most people don’t know about you…
1. I think mint and chocolate is a horrible combination.
2. I once jumped out of a perfectly good aeroplane with my dad and brother.
